Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! It's a little early but I figured I should take advantage of Joey being in bed and Jacob running a quick errand.

Things have been super crazy around here ever since Mr. Joey decided he not only wanted to crawl but also pull himself up on everything...the first few times he let go and fell pretty hard but now he's pretty careful- if he can't hold on with both hands then he gets back down and crawls. He also decided that since he could pull himself up in his crib that he didn't need to sleep anymore. He would just stand there for hours. Sometimes crying, sometimes not. I would go in to check on him and he would start laughing and get really excited. He was obviously VERY proud of himself for getting into that position. So I spent some time going through my books and trying stuff out...

I taught him how to get down once he's up:
1) put phone on couch- he WILL pull himself up to get it
2) just before he grabs it...put it on the floor- he WILL find a way to get down and grab it!

I gave him a sweet cuddly dog to sleep with so that he wouldn't feel alone. Although he doesn't actually "cuddle" with the dog...it seems to have helped.

And last but not least, we basically re-sleep-trained him. Except this time it only took a couple days. I guess it's normal that with such a big milestone it's going to disrupt his routine but I was not prepared for it!

So far 2012 has been pretty eventful- Daniel & Hannah got married on January 21st and we got to see lots of family and friends! We are in the process of buying a home in Waco but more on that another day. Jacob is working hard to finish his requirements at school and Joey is keeping me busy chasing him around! I think I may actually be thankful for such a small apartment because there isn't much room for him to roam! Last night I was away from Joey for the longest amount of time yet: 6 hours! haha, Daniel and Hannah were so sweet to baby-sit him while we went to the Healing Love Auction and Gala with the Spanns. Although we didn't bid on anything this year it was fun to see all the items and Jacob got to meet Kirk Cameron!! I did miss my Joey though...I couldn't wait to get my hands on him when we got home :)
