Mint, Coral, Grey, & White Tissue Pompoms

Thanks to Pinterest I found several tutorials on how to make tissue Pompoms. Here is the one I used.

I found the mint paper at Hobby Lobby, dark coral at HEB, silver with a grey back at Walgreens, and white you can find anywhere :)

Don't buy stuff that's too cheap or it will rip too easily! Since I'm hanging mine up against a brick wall I only used 8 sheets per flower. It is actually pretty hard to cut through several layers of tissue paper so this madey job a little easier too!

Make sure you follow the tutorial and use 13x20 (within an inch is close enough) sheets. I had to cut mine to that size. Also be sure to fold correctly... I had a blonde moment and folded the wrong way and it did not work out. Oops! Here are a few progress pictures but seriously, use someone else's tutorial. It's much better than mine ;)

Edges scalloped and ready to unfold!

If you can't open it up like a paper fan then something went wrong!

I accidentally tore off the round parts on a few "petals" and you really can't tell. Be gentle, but it doesn't have to be perfect :)

They are seriously soooo pretty!!

And yes, that used to be my kitchen table... Joey has enjoyed eating at the bar and having picnics on the floor this week!

Here they are at the shower. So fun!

Grey & Coral Tricycle Diaper Cake!

Thanks to this awesome tutorial I was able to make the cutest little tricycle diaper cake ever!! I love how the gray & coral colors turned out!

I only used 18 diapers in each wheel instead of 20 so that the large rubber bands I used would wrap around twice. I also didn't have time to find the perfect receiving blankets so I just used a 1.75 yards by 44 inches piece of fabric and rolled it, securing with 4 safety pins throughout. If I did it again I think I would cut it in half and follow her instructions with the yarn through the front tire...

Joey was SUCH a big help holding the fabric still while I rolled.

He was convinced that puppy should get a ride!  I also left off the bib 1) because I didn't find one that I loved and 2) because I didn't want to hide that pretty front tire. The grey chevron really makes the coral pop and kind of looks like tires!

The socks cover up the raw edges of the fabric really well and the bow is covering the rubber band holding the handle bars together.  If I was a better sewer I totally would have made the fabric into some cute blanket but I don't have the ability to surge edges with my machine so that didn't happen. Maybe next time ;)

Joey can't wait to give the cake to Aunt Ashleigh! However, he is a little concerned about it getting ruined. He almost cried when I told him I was taking it to her shower... Because he didn't want it getting wet. 😂

Here it is, DRY, at the shower :)

Fourth of July

We had so much fun swimming all morning at Auntie Em's house!

Abigail enjoyed swimming but she's mostly into sleeping these days :)
She is a great napper for 45 minutes (being held, in her crib, or wherever) but I can't get her to sleep any longer!  Thankfully at night she goes 7-8 hours so she is pretty happy most of the time!

After naps we went over to Aunt Janie's house for crawfish and more swimming.
Abigail is just 3 months younger than cousin Addison!  They both looked so cute in their red, white, and blue!

The toddlers loved swimming in the tanning shelf part of the pool!!

Joey loved the red, white & blue strawberries!

This is the closest I got to a sibling picture... Joey has loved playing with all his cousins!

Back at Auntie Em's we had our own firework show! The kids loved "racing" their animal fire crackers!

They were actually pretty loud... Which Addison did NOT appreciate. She was a trooper though and held out for the good ones!

Here's the gang watching Uncle Chris set off all the good ones. Joey and his cousins really enjoyed them!

Thanks Auntie Em and Uncle Chris for hosting such a fun 4th of July!

PS. The next morning when Joey woke up he said, "I thought we were going to the farm"... As we started to break the news that we weren't he said, "I like Auntie Em's house better!"
That's a pretty big compliment coming from Joey who is obsessed with all things farm!
