So Many "Firsts"

As a first time mommy I am constantly experiencing new and exciting things!
Today I went on a date (first one as a mommy) with Jacob to Studio Movie Grill and enjoyed lunch and a movie while Daniel and Hannah baby-sat! It was so nice to sit in the front seat of the car and just get to hang out with my "other baby"! Joey did well with his aunt and uncle and we even got a picture message update during the movie :)
Tomorrow will be the first time in my life that I can remember (20 something years) that I won't be going "back to school". I got to help Blake decorate her classroom last Wednesday and I have to say that I was sad that I wasn't setting up my room to meet lots of new kiddos. However, staying at home with my kid has always been my dream job. I enjoyed the 2 years I had at Pershing and hate that I won't be there but I am so excited and blessed to get to stay home. Meanwhile, I will have to live vicariously through Blake and her teaching experiences :)
Joey will be 3 months tomorrow and among his growing list of “firsts” are skills such as rolling over (stomach to back), social smiling like crazy, sucking his thumb (or any other body part that he can latch on ), recognizing my face and voice and getting excited when he hasn’t seen me for awhile (and is hungry), “talking” aka making noises while looking like he’s concentrating on saying the right “words”, exploding in his diaper so loudly that it is hard to believe it’s really him and not the person holding him, sleeping in his crib for 3-7 hours at a time, and more…he is also growing like crazy. I’m not sure if he’s gotten any “taller/longer” but he has managed to outgrow almost all of his 3 month outfits! I guess he wore them for over a month so that’s not too bad! I went to my parents’ to get all of his bigger outfits and it was like having a baby shower all over again!
Speaking of baby showers we feel so blessed by the many showers, gifts, meals, and other random acts of kindness that we have been given in the last several months. We are so thankful for the endless love and support we have received from our family, friends, and church family! I don’t know what I would have done without it.
I’m sorry this is my “first” update in awhile…I will try to do short updates more often! Meanwhile, the baby is ready for his nighttime feeding :)
